The clients had very specific goals for this new freestanding guest house- incorporate salvaged materials and other green features in the construction, have the aesthetic of a timber framed structure, and create an overall impression of an estate that had occupied the property for decades. The guest house is used for entertainment as well as extended stays for visting relatives and family. The driving 'design narrative' of the guest house was one of which an old carriage house on the property had been converted to living quarters. A custom carriage door was fabricated as were custom glass units. The guest house serves as a focal point to the renovated main house and frames the terraced landscape between the two.
Has won several awards and been featured in magazines- a full list is on our recognition page.
