The client's primary goal with the renovation/ addition to the main house were to update both the design and livability of the house while maintaining the classic 'bones' of the house. New large open spaces were created and existing ones opened up to alleviate the existing compartmentalized plan. The clients had a growing family and desired to create an 'estate' feeling that the children would cherish and return to throughout the years. The entire house was renovated as well as a significant addition constructed on the rear of the house. Traditional detailing is incorporated with cementitious and PVC materials to reduce maintenance of the house. The main house serves as a backdrop to the new guest house and affords spectacular views of the property via the terrace and two story deck above.
